In Confirmation, the gifts of God's grace bestowed in Baptism are brought to their fullest fruition as individuals are "confirmed" as adults in the Church. Confirmation stirs up and enhances what we know as the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Righteousness, Knowledge, Fear of the Lord, Fortitude, Piety, and Counsel. Confirmation is not the completion of one's faith formation journey but rather the beginning of the rigorous growth we are called to as adults in the Catholic faith.

Who can receive?
Normally, Confirmation is bestowed upon Confirmands at the end of their 8th Grade Faith Formation year by a Bishop. Special dispensation can be given to priests to bestow the sacrament, as well, and Confirmation is available to adult Catholics who were not confirmed in their youth.
