The Eucharist, or Holy Communion, is the source and summit of the Catholic faith because it is Jesus Himself. Through this Sacrament, we enter into the most intimate union with our Lord.
We Believe:
Who can receive?
Receiving the Eucharist changes us. It signifies and effects the unity of the community and serves to strengthen the Body of Christ. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that all Catholics who have received their First Holy Communion are welcome to receive the Eucharist at Mass unless in a state of mortal sin. Anyone aware of having sinned mortally must not receive the Eucharist without having received absolution in the sacrament of penance. (CCC 1415)
